Hormonbehandling og ikke-farmakologiske tilgange som HIIT kan forbedre s\u00f8vnkvaliteten og reducere symptomer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forstyrret s\u00f8vn er et betydeligt folkesundhedsproblem<\/strong>, der kan p\u00e5virke livskvaliteten markant. Kvinder oplever ofte flere s\u00f8vnproblemer end m\u00e6nd, is\u00e6r under menopausetransitionen. Studier viser, at kvinder i menopausen rapporterer mere end dobbelt s\u00e5 mange s\u00f8vnproblemer som pr\u00e6-menopausale kvinder.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hormonelle \u00e6ndringer, is\u00e6r udsving i \u00f8stradiol<\/strong>, kan p\u00e5virke s\u00f8vnkvaliteten. Hormonbehandling kan forbedre s\u00f8vnen for nogle kvinder ved at reducere vasomotoriske symptomer som hedeture. S\u00f8vnforstyrrelser \u00f8ger risikoen for depression, og omvendt kan depression \u00f8ge selvrapporterede s\u00f8vnproblemer. Hormonbehandling kan if\u00f8lge studier mindske depressive symptomer og forbedre selvrapporteret s\u00f8vn. Hormonbehandling, som transdermal \u00f8stradiol, kan forbedre s\u00f8vn ved at reducere tiden til at falde i s\u00f8vn og antallet af opv\u00e5gninger. Ikke-farmakologiske tilgange som HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), ses ogs\u00e5 i nogle studier at kunne forbedre s\u00f8vnkvaliteten og reducere sv\u00e6rhedsgraden af s\u00f8vnl\u00f8shed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Et eksempel p\u00e5 en s\u00f8vnproblematik, som ofte er overset hos kvinder i menopause-transitionen, er s\u00f8vn-apn\u00f8. <\/strong>S\u00f8vn-apn\u00f8 er en s\u00f8vnforstyrrelse, hvor vejrtr\u00e6kningen gentagne gange stopper og starter under s\u00f8vnen. Der findes to former: obstruktiv s\u00f8vnapn\u00f8, hvor musklerne i halsen slapper af og blokerer luftvejene, og central s\u00f8vnapn\u00f8, hvor hjernen ikke sender de rigtige signaler til de dele, der styrer vejrtr\u00e6kningen.<\/p>\n<p>If\u00f8lge Dansk S\u00f8vnapn\u00f8forening ansl\u00e5s det, at 10-20% af m\u00e6nd og 5-9% af kvinder i alderen 30-60 \u00e5r lider af obstruktiv s\u00f8vnapn\u00f8. Mange lider af s\u00f8vn-apn\u00f8 uden at vide det, da symptomerne ofte tilskrives stress. Kvinder diagnosticeres ofte senere end m\u00e6nd, da de snorker mindre og derfor ikke s\u00f8ger hj\u00e6lp s\u00e5 hurtigt. Symptomerne kan v\u00e6re h\u00f8jlydt snorken, pauser i vejrtr\u00e6kningen under s\u00f8vn, en gispen efter luft, at man v\u00e5gner op med t\u00f8r mund eller hovedpine, og ekstrem tr\u00e6thed i l\u00f8bet af dagen. Et systematisk review fandt en sammenh\u00e6ng mellem menopause-transitionen og s\u00f8vnapn\u00f8, hvor forekomsten af obstruktiv s\u00f8vn-apn\u00f8 steg gennem menopause-transitionen.
